1.1This Privacy Policy explains how Galix Studios Pty Ltd, an Australian company (ABN 22 703 560 141) ("we", "us", "our"), handles personal information in connection with the Farlocal mobile app and its web pages (the "App"). It is effective from 4 November 2026.
1.2We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply to us, and with the privacy laws that protect you where you live.
2.1The App stores these things in its private storage on your device: your settings (theme, units, motion), your home place, recently viewed places, your trip destinations and checklist ticks, the places you compare, and your Check yourself progress, and whether you have unlocked the full App.
2.2This information never leaves your device through the App. It is not sent to us or anyone else. It may be included in your device's own backups (for example iCloud or Google backup), which are handled by Apple or Google under their privacy policies.
3.1This version of the App makes no network requests of its own. All rule information is built into the App.
3.2Official sources: when you tap a source link, it opens in your web browser. The website you visit receives your request under its own privacy policy.
3.3Purchases: if you buy the full-App unlock, the payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We receive no payment details and no information that identifies you; the store only confirms to the App that the unlock was bought.
3.4Reports and emails: "Report a problem" opens a draft email in your own email app, showing exactly what will be sent (the rule and App version). Nothing is sent unless you send it.
4.1If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you include and your message. We use them only to reply and to fix any problem you report, and delete them within 12 months after the matter is closed unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Our email provider may store messages on servers outside Australia.
5.1The App does not ask for location, camera, microphone, contacts or photos access. If a future version offers an optional "Where am I" feature, it will ask first, work only while the App is open and on your device only, and this policy will be updated before it is released.
6.1The App and its web pages do not use cookies, advertising identifiers, analytics, crash reporting, session recording or any other tracking technology, contain no third-party code that collects data, and show no advertising. We do not sell or share personal information.
7.1The App is suitable for all ages. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. A child should only email us with a parent's or guardian's help.
8.1Information in the App is protected by your device's security, so please keep your device locked and up to date.
8.2You can delete everything the App keeps at any time with More > Delete all my data, or by deleting the App. To ask about, correct or delete any email you have sent us, contact us by email to support@galixstudios.com.
9.1We do not disclose personal information to anyone overseas. Our email and hosting providers may store information outside Australia, as described above.
10.1If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place with similar laws, you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your personal information, and to complain to your data protection authority. The lawful basis for replying to your email is our legitimate interest in answering you. If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, we do not sell or share personal information and do not use sensitive personal information.
11.1Contact us by email to support@galixstudios.com. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or your local privacy regulator.
12.1If we change this policy, we will update it in the App and on our website and change the effective date. If a change affects what leaves your device, we will tell you in the App before it takes effect.
13.1This document is written in English. Translations in the App are provided to help you read it; if a translation differs from the English, the English version applies.
